Back in 2005 we were working odd hours doing Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing for a very large company that did business with small to medium enterprises.  The company we worked for helped other companies promote themselves to their customers using promotional items.

The thing is, we realized that offline promotions are only a small facet of what companies need to do, even back then.  It is clear that going online is the way to go for businesses without the budgets for above the line; tv, print, billboards and what not.  What companies needed to do is to go online.
